FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: APRIL 1, 2015
FAIRFIELD, NJ – Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning® announced today that the autonomous robotic gutter cleaner hinted at by the company during the SXSW Interactive Festival in March, will be available for purchase beginning April 15.
“On a day that can be very taxing, we’re proud that we will be able to provide homeowners across the country with a product that can go a long way to help relieve some of that stress,” said Ned Stevens Marketing Director Courtney Gaulters.
According to Gaulters, the robot, which is called Gumba, was designed to provide homeowners with an easy-to-use solution for gutter cleaning, thus protecting the integrity of their homes.
“Gutter cleaning is a hard and often dangerous job that you shouldn’t tackle on your own,” Gaulters said. “But for the sake of your home, the job has to be tackled, and our little Gumba is built to be a gutter-tackling machine.”
Gaulters said Gumba will, “revolutionize the gutter cleaning industry,” by utilizing artificial intelligence to ensure gutters are cleaned not just multiple times a year, which is highly recommended, but whenever debris is present.
“All that’s needed is to put our Gumba in the gutters,” Gaulters said. “After that, it remains in the gutters and comes to life and cleans the gutters whenever something enters them.”
The Gumba will be made available in two models; Gumba and GumbaPro. Both models will be 3.5” in diameter. The original Gumba will be 5” in height and is designed for everyday residential use, while the GumbaPro is meant for more industrial applications and will be 8” in height. Gumba will retail for $420 and GumbaPro will retail for $1,995.
The company has yet to release images of the final product, or details about HOW it works, but sketches of the Gumba and GumbaPro prototypes were leaked at the SXSW Interactive Festival last month. It has been rumored that Gumba will operate on solar power and that all collected debris is turned into vapor utilizing a state-of-the-art, proprietary technique.
“The Gumba is a huge undertaking, so all the details are still being finalized,” said Gaulters. “But rest assured that Gumba is ready to order and will ship on time and we couldn’t be more excited.”
