Big Party Ideas for the Big Game

That time of year has finally arrived. The epic moment of pro football, the game of the year! Now it is time for you to prepare for the big party you will host in honor of the game (and the commercials, of course!). No matter which team you’re rooting for, everyone should be able to come together and have a blast cheering on their team, eating great food and enjoying time with friends and family.

Need a little inspiration for planning the perfect football party? We’ve got a few things to get you started.

Chips and Dip

Whether you go Mexican themed with chips, guac and salsa or a Greek-inspired dish with hummus and pita chips, you can’t go wrong with this classic. We love this guacamole recipe! Don’t forget the lime! Also, if you want to spice things up, you can make your own spinach artichoke dip with warmed chips. Talk about delish!

Hot Wings

What goes better with football than hot wings? Great question and we believe the answer is a big fat nothing. There are so many options to choose from like Buffalo wings or chipotle lime or honey BBQ. Well, now we are hungry.

Beer/Wine/Beverages

BEERWINE
You can’t have wings without beer. Plus, it goes just as well with football. Gather an array of beverages for your guests based on their preferences. Don’t forget to get some sodas or mocktails for those friends who don’t drink. They will need something to quench their thirst too!

Chili

February is a cold month for pretty much everyone in the country. Chili is a great way to warm your guests during the game. Set up a condiments bar with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, crackers and other delicious toppings.

Cake

Now you can’t have a football party without cake, because what is a party without cake? Our 7-year-old selves would be appalled. But if you are going to have cake, do it right. Make a football-shaped cake or a football field. Go all out with the theme!

Brownies

big game 2
Yes, cake is awesome, but that doesn’t mean everyone will be in the mood for cake. Brownies are another great option that doesn’t take a lot of time. We love this recipe!

Betting/Squares

Just because the big game is being played doesn’t mean there can’t be a little something on the side. Have your guests play Squares or another betting game to liven up the crowd! Be sure to have a grand prize for the winner!

Kiddie Table

kidtable
It’s not exactly fun to have the kids interrupt your laser-like focus on the ball. Set up a table for your kiddos to play while you watch your boys battle it out on the field. Create different stations to keep the kids entertained, like a coloring station, an arts and crafts station or a Lego station.
